Meet The Whittens | Style File

Today I get to share The Whittens and their wedding with you!  It has been just over a year since they tied the knot and they are as wonderful as every.  Believe it or not I went to high school with both Mike and Audrey.  So when Freshman year of college was coming to an end and my roommate McKenzie and I were looking for a new place to live, we were happy to run into Audrey and her roommate Sara, doing the same thing in Eugene. This lead to us four being roommates for the remaining years of college!

In summer of 2014 when Audrey got home from a long weekend and a country music festival, she had quite a surprise in store.  Mike popped the question, and of course Audrey said yes!  We were all elated to hear the news and couldn’t wait to celebrate their love.  Audrey had a beautiful Saturday afternoon bridal shower hosted by her soon to be mother in law and sister in law up at the Whitten’s home.  It was so fun going back there as I hadn’t been there since my high school days, and now it was wonderfully decorated in celebration of Mike and Audrey, how perfect! A great day spent eating tasty food, catching up with old friends, and playing silly games.

A few days before the wedding I got a text from Audrey inviting me to come over and help with wedding crafts for the big day, so obviously I was over in a heartbeat!  We had a fun night with her family and bridal party getting all the floral from La Merla arranged for the bouquets and table decor.  I don’t know about you guys but I do looooooove fresh flowers, it is so fun getting to play around with arrangements!

On August 29th, 2015 the wildfire smoke that had become a mainstay in Southern Oregon miraculously cleared from the valley and left these two with an absolutely wonderful wedding day.  The ceremony was hosted on the front half of the Hanley Farms property, in front of the historic home.  The bridesmaids walked down the aisle in sage green dresses, and the groomsmen in Grey suites with matching neckwear.  Followed by Audrey who as you can see, looked stunning on her big day as her father walked her down the aisle to her new groom.  She wore a beautiful lace gown that fit her perfectly! Thank you to Gypsy Jane Photography for sharing these great shots of the wedding and all the magical details that made it so special!

After their ceremony we moved to the covered patio area around back which was a great help with escaping the heat while we enjoyed cocktail hour and dinner.  By the time the evening was coming to an end it is a wonder the dance floor was even still in commission.  Since many of us guests went to high school together we already knew each other and since we don’t get to see each other as often as we would like, we continued on with our own dance party for the remainder of the night at an undisclosed locations ha!  It was beyond fun and certainly a wedding to never forget.

As evidence of the fun, take a peak at some of the bridal party shenanigans below…
